Crime
Calendar
It is vital for Lakewood citizens to be aware of the true nature of
crime in their neighborhoods. Currently, the best source of information
is the media binder maintained by the police department. It contains
the daily call logs and is
available for review by any member of the public. It contains a very
brief summary of each day's activities. You can access these recaps in
.PDF format by clicking below on a day of the week.
Use this information only as a general guide. Address information may
be an approximation. For instance, if an officer discovers narcotics
during a traffic stop in front of 17514 Detroit Ave., the incident
summary might give the false impression drugs were found inside St.
James. Be aware that the nature of an incident can change as
information emerges. For example, an event may be initially coded as
grand theft motor vehicle, but later change when
it's discovered someone had permission to borrow the car. The
abbreviation ARA or ARJ means someone was arrested. DCI stands for
disorderly
conduct. DUS stands for driving under suspension. MVA stands for motor
vehicle accident. DV stands for domestic violence. WOPD and 10-16
indicate
someone had an arrest warrant.
12/16/2010 update: Good news! The
Lakewood Police Department has added a call log section to their Web site. It is updated
on a daily basis during the week. For the time being, the Crime
Calendar will archive what they post.
